Amanda Parkhurst, better known to children in greater Portland as Amanda Panda, is 317 Main’s Little Roots Director. She comes to 317 Main with years of experience as an early childhood music educator, performer, program director and founder of Music and Magic Maine, a charity that puts instruments into the hands of children at no cost. Using original songs, dances and puppets, Amanda has led programs at preschools, libraries, yoga studios, and the Common Ground Fair.
She also served as director of summer camp programs for Waynflete School in Portland.
Amanda is the mother of Dylan and Garcia, who she says inspire her on a daily basis.
