317 Main Community Member Tests Positive For CoVid-19
March 23rd, 2020
Dear 317 Main Community,
The purpose of this communication is to inform you that we have received word that an adult 317 Main student has tested positive for COVID-19. The individual is isolated at home and reports relatively mild symptoms. The individual most recently was at 317 Main on March 12.
At 317 Main, we encourage open communication, but we also want to respect this individual’s privacy. This is, to our knowledge, the first positive test result in the 317 Main community. Since learning of the positive test result, the individual has followed the direction of the Maine CDC in reaching out to those with whom there was recent contact. Such individuals are asked to self-quarantine by Maine CDC.
It is important for those individuals, as well as every member of our community, to seek medical attention by first calling their primary care physician if they experience fever or respiratory symptoms.
We all play a role in keeping our community healthy. Please practice preventive measures to reduce the risk of infection:
Minimize social interaction, practice social distancing, and avoid being in large groups.
Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer, cough and sneeze into your elbow or tissue, and refrain from touching your face.
If you are sick, especially with respiratory symptoms, stay home and contact your healthcare provider if needed.
We understand that having a positive case within our community could add to stress and anxiety. Yet, we must be vigilant and act on information that we know. 317 Main will continue to provide what support we can in the midst of this challenge.
