When I’m not making music: I love to throw pottery, cook up a storm in the kitchen, go on walks with my dog Maisie, and drive around the Maine coast.

Current Music Projects: Writing and performing with the Alicia Phelps Group and the Gatsby Gang Jazz Band, working on recording projects in the Portland area, and cultivating music ministry at the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church.

Favorite place in Maine: Wherever the Maine Maple Creemee truck is parked!

Alicia Phelps is vocalist, pianist and music educator based in  Portland.  Alicia has performed with Grammy award-winning vocalist/saxophonist Darmon Meader (New York Voices), The Portland Jazz Orchestra, organist/pianist Dr. Joe Utterback, jazz pianist Jed Wilson, and notable musicians throughout Southern Maine and the Seacoast areas.  Alicia works with multiple groups performing treasures from the American Songbook, classic jazz, and high energy R & B music.

SInce graduating from the University of Southern Maine with a B. M. in Music Education in 2016, Alicia has worked in both the public and private spheres of music education to bring meaningful music experiences to students in Maine.  Alicia currently works as the Director of Community Partnerships and Special Programs at 317 Main and maintains a vibrant studio of private piano and voice students.

In her free time, Alicia cultivates music ministry at the Westbrook-Warren Congregational Church and makes a mess throwing pots at Portland Pottery
