FIDDLE PROGRAM
In 2015 we launched a continuing partnership program with the East End Community School in Portland that allows every third grader to learn to play the violin at no cost to students or their families. In the fall, classes explore the violin through in-class instruction for 4 weeks. After that they have the option to continue a weekly class as part of the school’s “Rise and Shine Program before the school day begins.
In January, students who have opted to continue with the program get to take the instruments provided by 317 Main home each day for the remainder of the school year.
“Thanks to our partnership with 317 Main, we’ve introduced hundreds of third grade students to violin and given them the chance to choose to continue weekly classes at no cost to their families. This provides a great opportunity for all of our students and generates both student and parent interest in the violin and music.”

GARAGE BAND
In the fall of 2017, we began offering Garage Band on Wednesday mornings to help jump start kids’ creativity at the start of the school day.
